Breaking News:Denijay Harris enter final stage to complete deal

An Arkansas forward plans on entering the transfer portal and will not return to Fayetteville next season

Arkansas forward Denijay Harris is pursuing a waiver for another year of eligibility with plans to enter the transfer portal and not return to the Razorbacks for the 2024-25 season, HawgSports has learned. The 6-7, 195-pound senior transferred to Arkansas ahead of this season after four years at Southern Miss. He was a solid rotation player for the Golden Eagles during the 2022-23 season, averaging 8.9 point and 5.6 rebounds

In his lone season with the Razorbacks, Harris saw pretty limited action. He only played in 11 games and averaged 0.6 points and 0.8 rebounds in 4.5 minutes. His best outing came in the team’s 93-59 season-opening win over Alcorn State where he finished with five points, seven rebounds and two assists in 12 minutes.

Played three years at Southern Miss (82 games with 43 starts) and helped Southern Miss post a 28-5 record, win the Sun Belt regular-season title and earn an NIT berth in 2023 … Graduated from Southern Miss in the spring of 2023 with a degree in Liberal Studies and he will pursue a second undergraduate degree from Arkansas in Arts & Sciences.

Had a break-out season … In his first two seasons, scored 166 points with 172 rebounds while scoring 248 points with 159 rebounds in year three … Also had his best year shooting from the field at 56.2 percent.
Played in 28 games with 22 starts.
Recorded his first three career double-doubles…

First, scored 11 points with 10 rebounds versus Arkansas State … Later, had back-to-back double-doubles … In the regular-season finale at Texas State, had 14 points and 11 boards … Followed that with an 18-point, 12-rebound performance versus South Alabama in the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
Scored a career-high 22 points at Arkansas State, making 10-of-15 from the field, and added eight rebounds.
Grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds, including a career-high nine defensive boards, versus Georgia Southern … Just missed a double-double as he scored nine points.

Appeared in 32 games with 13 starts.
Posted a season highs with 12 points and seven rebounds against UAB (3/2).
Scored 10 points against FAU (2/5).
Dished out a career-high three assists against Rice (2/26).
Started both games at the Conference USA Tournament in Frisco, Texas.

Appeared in 22 of the team’s 25 games, earning eight starts.
Had a career-high six offensive rebounds versus UL Monroe.
Pulled down 10 boards apiece against William Carey, ULM and Loyola, the latter two coming in consecutive games.
Scored a season-high 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting in 84-54 win over Middle Tennessee.
Went 16-for-26 at the foul line for the season, including 5-for-5 against UTEP and 4-of-4 at UTSA.
