The red-hot NC State Wolfpack will look to slay another giant, this time for the Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball title against the No. 4 North Carolina Tar Heels. The game is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. ET start at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The Tar Heels were the ACC’s best team in the regular season, winning that league title and the No. 1 seed for the ACC Tournament. On the other side, NC State is unranked and on a tear of four straight ACC tournament wins over Louisville (94-85), Syracuse (83-65), No. 11 Duke (74-69) and Virginia (73-65 in OT) to reach the tournament finals. The Wolfpack closed the season with a 17-14 record and on a four-game losing streak. Now, they’ve climbed within a game of securing an NCAA Tournament berth.

The one opponent standing between NC State and that Cinderella run is an excellent one in North Carolina. Coach Hubert Davis and his Tar Heel team won the ACC with a 27-6 overall record and 17-3 league mark, then beat Florida State (92-67) and Pittsburgh (72-65) to open the ACC Tournament. The duo of RJ Davis (25 points) and Armando Bacot (19 points, 11 rebounds) once again led the way in the semifinal win over Pitt.
