BREAKING: Omg Geno Auriemma with astonishing world-class display of pure gold heart donates her entire $20.5 million bonus and endorsement deal to the charities and homeless due to…

…a promise he made 30 years ago.

In a stunning act of generosity that has taken the sports world by storm, legendary UConn women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma has donated the entirety of his recent $20.5 million bonus and endorsement earnings to charitable causes and homeless support organizations across the country.

Auriemma, who just led the Huskies to yet another national title, was praised not only for his coaching genius but for what he did off the court immediately following the championship celebration.

During a press conference that was initially expected to focus on his team’s record-breaking season, Auriemma instead shocked reporters with a handwritten letter — dated March 29, 1995.

“I made a promise to myself, and to a man I met in New Haven 30 years ago,” Auriemma began, voice wavering with emotion. “He was homeless, wearing a tattered UConn sweatshirt. We shared a sandwich on a bench, and he told me, ‘If you ever make it big, coach, remember folks like me.’ I told him I would. I’ve been carrying this note ever since.”

The $20.5 million donation is being split among several organizations, including:

Homes for All, a nonprofit working to end chronic homelessness

Project Rebound, helping formerly incarcerated women re-enter society through education and basketball

The Gold Bench Foundation, a newly created initiative named after the park bench where the promise was made, aimed at providing transitional housing and mental health services in Connecticut.

Social media erupted with praise, calling it “the classiest move in sports history” and “a reminder that humanity can be elite too.” UConn players reportedly burst into tears when Auriemma told them where his bonus was going, many saying the gesture inspired them more than any speech or victory.

Asked if he had any regrets giving away such a massive fortune, Auriemma smiled and said, “I already have everything I need. This… this is the real win.”
