BREAKING NEWS; James Franklin has been fired due to

James Franklin had always prided himself on being a steady hand, guiding his team through the ups and downs of the season. But lately, things hadn’t been going well. A string of losses had piled up, and the once hopeful chatter of the fans had turned to grumbling. He could feel it—the pressure building, the expectation that something had to give.

After yet another disappointing game, the phone call came. He was summoned to the athletic director’s office, where the atmosphere felt heavier than usual. Franklin walked in, his face betraying nothing, but deep down, he knew what was coming.

“James,” the AD started, his voice measured, “we’ve appreciated everything you’ve done for the program, but we need to move in a different direction.”

The words hit him like a cold wind. Franklin nodded, keeping his composure. “I understand,” he said, though part of him wanted to argue, to plead his case. But the decision was already made.

He packed his office that evening, each framed picture, each award a reminder of the years he’d given. The locker room was quiet as he walked through it one last time, his footsteps echoing off the walls.

Outside, the stadium lights glowed faintly in the distance. James stood there for a moment, looking out at the field, wondering what the future held. He had been fired, but as he turned and walked away, he knew he wasn’t done yet. There were other fields, other lights.
