**Cincinnati Bearcats Point Guard Arrested on Multiple Charges**

Cincinnati, OH – The University of Cincinnati’s men’s basketball program faced a significant setback on Monday as starting point guard, Alex Johnson, was arrested in connection with multiple charges, including DUI and resisting arrest. Johnson was taken into custody late Sunday night after a routine traffic stop revealed signs of impairment.

According to police reports, officers noticed Johnson swerving between lanes before initiating the stop. Upon approaching the vehicle, they observed the smell of alcohol and asked Johnson to perform sobriety tests, which he reportedly failed. During the arrest, he allegedly became uncooperative, leading to additional charges for resisting arrest.

Head Coach Mike Miller expressed his disappointment in a statement released by the university. “We are aware of the situation involving Alex and take these matters very seriously. We are in the process of gathering all relevant information and will address this internally.”

Johnson, a key player for the Bearcats, has been pivotal in their early season performances, averaging 15 points and 6 assists per game. His arrest raises questions about his future with the team and potential disciplinary actions from the university.

The Bearcats are scheduled to play their next game against rival Xavier on Thursday. The team’s leadership is focusing on supporting the players during this challenging time while ensuring that the integrity of the program is upheld. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
