Kirby Dach Opens Up About Last Season’s Knee Injury and Confirms Major Rumor
After a season cut short due to a knee injury, Kirby Dach now says he’s more ready than ever to make a strong comeback for the 2024-25 season.
The new regular season is set to kick off in just a few weeks.
That said, during the press conference he held earlier this week, the 23-year-old forward confirmed a rumor that had been circulating at the end of last season about a possible return to the game.
This is interesting! It’s exactly what TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie mentioned a few months ago.Last year was very long, and I feel good mentally and physically. I felt ready to play games at the end of last year even though I hadn’t received the green light from the doctors.”
With such statements, it’s clear that the Canadiens’ management made the right decision regarding number 77, and he is gearing up for this year’s training camp as a crucial step in his career.
“I had a great summer, and now I’m entering camp almost trying to prove myself again and show that I can be an impact player on this team, help us win a few games, and play in important matches toward the end of the season.”
Acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2022 draft, Kirby Dach had a very good first season in Montreal with 38 points in 58 games, but he was limited to just two games in 2023-24.
Most experts expect him to play on the Canadiens’ second line, and if he’s paired with Patrik Laine and Alex Newhook, he could potentially have the best season of his young career.
