2024 NRL Signings Tracker: Roosters lock down stars; Cowboys re-sign important pair

For the 2025 season, the Cowboys have agreed to one-year contract extensions with Semi Valemei, an outside back, and half Jake Clifford.

After leaving the Cowboys in 2021, Clifford spent time in Newcastle and the UK before returning to North Queensland for a one-year contract in 2024.

Since joining the Cowboys in the middle of the 2023 season, Valemei has scored 10 tries in 13 games. In 2024, he made four appearances in the NRL.

Cowboys General Manager of Football Michael Luck stated, “As a club we have been impressed with the way Jake has contributed to our overall program since he has returned from England.”

“Jake has another year to make his mark on the team and play a significant role in our club’s success.”

The Wests Tigers, meanwhile, have declared the signing of seven players who they believe will eventually make it into their starting lineup.

Lachlan Broederlow, an up-and-coming forward, has agreed to a two-year contract that will advance him to a development contract in 2026.
