Breaking: Reece Walsh, a star player for the Brisbane Broncos, has decided to retire from the game because of serious…
As the Broncos move to address the unpleasant truth about NRL star Reece Walsh, his “weakness” is called out.
The Broncos believe they have found a way to eliminate the mistakes made by their gun fullback.
The attacking coach of the Brisbane Broncos has disclosed how the team decided to force Reece Walsh to run more slowly during games so he can make more snap decisions. When it comes to full speed, Walsh is one of the fastest players in the NRL, but it can also be his undoing when it causes a panic attack or an error.
Because of his spectacular and ingenious on-field antics, the Broncos fullback, who led the NRL in errors the previous season, often goes unnoticed. In 2023, Walsh made 53 mistakes, 50 of which were handling errors. This is an astounding eight times more than the next closest player, Dominic Young, who made 45 errors.
Walsh was at his brilliant best in last week’s win over the Raiders, scoring two tries, making three line breaks and running for 199 metres. But he also produced three errors to go along with it.
Broncos attacking coach Lee Briers discussed their efforts to reduce mistakes with the BBC League podcast this week. Briers disclosed that he’s genuinely attempting to persuade Walsh to run more slowly so he can have more time to think things through.
Briers stated, “He completes everything extremely quickly; it’s both his strength and his weakness.” “The game slows down on you as you age, as we all know.
