Could Multi-Year Veteran Be Pursued by San Francisco Giants as Rotation Piece?
The San Francisco Giants may look to strengthen their rotation as some other contending teams are reportedly interested in signing a multi-year veteran pitcher.

At the trade deadline, the San Francisco Giants revealed their plans for the remainder of the season by choosing not to deal some of their best players.

Rather, they kept this roster together with the intention of contending for a postseason berth while making certain moves as a salary dump.

It will be difficult for them to reverse their decision to not become sellers because they had such a erratic start, but they must make a strong effort in the last few weeks to avoid losing a significant chance to enhance the company as a whole.

The Giants believe they can qualify for the Wild Card because of their pitching, among other things.

After acquiring the Cy Young version of Blake Snell that was absent in the early part of the season, president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi claimed that they had the best starting rotation in baseball. This claim appears to be much more accurate now.

Still, they decided to move starting pitcher Alex Cobb and rely on their young rookie Hayden Birdsong to be an important fifth player in this group, dumping Cobb as part of their salary dump.
