Leinster rugby superstar and his girlfriend welcome the birth of twins….

Leinster rugby star Ed Byrne bids farewell as he embarks on major career move

Rugby star Ed Byrne has bid goodbye to Leinster after 12 years as he makes a major career move across the water to the UK.

The loosehead prop has announced he’s stepped down from the Leinster rugby squad and is moving to Wales to play for Cardiff Rugby.

The 30-year-old, who tied the knot with his wife Rebecca Long in a stunning wedding in Marbella last year, shared a heartfelt goodbye as he departed, saying it had been his ‘childhood dream’ to play for Leinster.

He wrote: ‘Thank you to everyone @leinsterrugby for the privilege of playing for my home province for the last 12 years and living out my childhood dream

It’s been an incredible journey and I’ve made memories and friends that will last a lifetime. Thanks so much to everyone for all the support along the way. Excited to start a new chapter @cardiff.rugby.’

His Leinster teammates shared their support for him on social media, with James Lowe re-sharing the post with the tear-face emoji.
