Nashville SC signs midfielder Isaiah Jones as club’s second homegrown player
Nashville SC announced the signing of Isaiah Jones, a 17-year-old midfielder from Thompson’s Station, to a first team contract Wednesday.
Jones is the second homegrown player signing in Nashville’s history, following Adem Sipic last June. Jones’ contract runs through 2027, with an option for 2028.
“Isaiah exemplifies what we look for out of our youth academy as a homegrown player, and I’m so excited for he and his family for this special moment,” Nashville SC General Manager Mike Jacobs said in a news relese. “He has all of the attributes you look for in a young central midfielder — industrious, tenacious, athletic, and tough — but it’s his character and ability to influence winning that now sees him make the next step in his career as a first team player.”
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Jones has been with Nashville SC’s youth academy since 2020 and rose through the ranks quickly. Last season, he featured for Nashville’s U17 team and made seven appearances, four of them starts, with Nashville’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, Huntsville City FC. Jones also appeared for Nashville during the club’s preseason camp in Florida last month.
