Breaking News:Seth Trimble after returning makes outrageous statement and its very unpleasant
The sophomore guard went in-depth on his offseason decision during a school sanctioned interview.
Seth Trimble entered the transfer portal on April 9 but withdrew his name and returned to North Carolina two weeks later, giving the Tar Heels back their best perimeter defender and veteran backcourt depth for next season. The rising junior spoke on the school’s Carolina Insider podcast with Jones Angell and Adam Lucas this week and explained his portal experience and what factors led him to return to UNC. Here are six of Trimble’s key quotes from the in-house interview
“I was with my academic advisor when I put my name in the portal, and I couldn’t get myself to post the announcement on Instagram. I tried to have her do it for me, but she couldn’t do it. So, I just closed my eyes and pressed the button. I just felt sadness. I felt really heavy. I can’t even explain that feeling. I have never felt that way. It just felt like I lost the biggest thing in my life. I was very happy to [post I was coming back]. I couldn’t wait. I couldn’t wait to press that button. It felt so good to announce my dedication, my love and my commitment to this university. I’m where I belong
“I didn’t have a problem with it. I wanted to be in the game, but I’m man enough to say that they played off of me and played off of Elliot. That was the main reason why Elliot and I weren’t in at the end of the game. Paxson (Wojcik) came in and hit a huge shot. We needed the spacing, and we took away some of that space in the Alabama game. I didn’t take any offense to that. That’s not why I entered the portal
After thinking everything out, I felt like, no matter how much I love this situation, I have to put myself out there to see what there is for me. However, Carolina was always in play. For me to figure out everything and recognize my values, I had to put myself out there. I’m glad I did. I’m back here with a fresh mind. It was a reset for me.
