Breaking News:The Packers just sealed a world class deal after intensive discussion
I gotta say, I’m surprised by the last round of results, but Green Bay Packers fans have spoken. Despite Oklahoma’s Tyler Guyton being ranked 30th on the consensus draft board compared to Georgia’s Amarius Mims (23rd), Guyton edged out both Mims and Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry in the fourth edition of our big board polls.
To me, Mims is clearly the better prospect, as I struggle to see a significant difference between Guyton and Houston’s Patrick Paul — who is ranked 66th on the consensus board. Just a few days ago, though, NFL reporter Ben Allbright stated that most people have Paul ranked too low on big boards and mock drafts, which might solve that particular issue on draft day.
Ultimately, it appears that Mims’ injury history, which includes an ankle issue in the SEC Championship Game following his in-season tightrope surgery and a hamstring problem that limited him at the scouting combine, was too much for Packers fans to overlook.
Now that Guyton is off the board, though, which direction do you believe that the team would take in this scenario? The top prospects who haven’t been plucked off our big board yet, according to these polls, are Mims and cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry — who was identified to have a Jones fracture in his foot at the combine. Is it finally time to take a swing on an injury risk, or do you think general manager Brian Gutekunst will find another path to go down?
Let us know in the comment section. We’ll continue to run these daily polls up until the Packers are on the clock on Thursday.
