Breaking News:Ohio state in advance negotiations for Tar Heel young prospect

When asked about what schools he was interested in growing up, LeBron James had some rather interesting things to say about the Tar Heels.

As we know, LeBron James never made it to the collegiate ranks. Straight out of high school, James was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, and ever since, he’s been flat-out dominating the league.

However, the topic of colleges came up on James’ podcast, Mind the Game Pod, starring the current Los Angeles Laker and former Duke Blue Devil and NBA veteran JJ Redick.

Of course, we’ve heard in the past how “LeBron would have been a Buckeye,” or “LeBron would’ve spent his lone college season in Durham.”

Well, according to James, neither one of those schools were mentioned.

As Theo Pinson proudly says… “ROLL THE CLIP!

James discussed two particular programs on this podcast episode: Cincinatti and North Carolina.

Here’s what he had to say about the UNC basketball program and the particular player that caught his attention:

“I used to watch North Carolina back in the day. Ed Cota, he didn’t sniff the NBA, but I f**kin loved Ed Cota in college. I loved Ed Cota. Shammond Williams, that team that they had.

Not only was James inspired by the “point god” Ed Cota, but he also flat-out told Redick that he had absolutely no desire to go to Duke.

As we stated earlier, James didn’t even come close to taking the college route. For a guy of his unique talent, the only right answer was to begin his professional career right away, as he’s proven that he was more than ready for what the league had (and still has) in store for him.

However, IMAGINE if LeBron James would have ended up in a UNC basketball jersey. The program would have claimed the two players that people consistently debate about in regard to the “GOAT” conversation.

He wouldn’t have been able to wear No 23 in Chapel Hill, but man it would have been fun to watch
