Breaking News:Aidan Bitter deal done and sealed Iowa states ready for more business

Iowa State has seen its first transfer deflection of the spring with wide receiver Aidan Bitter entering the portal, according to a Cyclone Alert source. Bitter previously graduated from Iowa State and opted to “move on” a team spokesperson said in a statement to Cyclone Alert

Bitter enters the transfer portal, and likely has hopes of making a greater opportunity in his final season of college football this fall. The Cyclones are confident in their wide receivers this fall with Jayden Higgins (983 yards and six touchdowns) and Jaylin Noel (820 yards and seven touchdowns) both expected to return — barring an unforeseen circumstance — after strong 2023 campaigns with first-year starting quarterback Rocco Becht. The Cyclones also added Army transfer receiver Isaiah Alton, who posted 266 yards and a pair of touchdowns last season in just four games

With three capable, experienced receivers Iowa State had limited opportunity for Bitter to work onto the field. Iowa State is also confident in redshirt freshman Beni Ngoyi, who had a catch in the Liberty Bowl that went for 46 yards. Iowa State has expectations of playing more vertically in the passing game this season with new play-caller Taylor Mouser replacing Nate Scheelhaase, who accepted a position on the Los Angeles Rams offensive staff this offseason.

The spring transfer portal window will open on April 16 for all college football players. The football transfer portal closes on April 30. The dates were altered after previously being set to open on May 1.

Happy Sunday everybody. I hope you all enjoyed watching the Final Four games on Saturday night and still have a chance to nail your bracket prediction with UConn-Purdue in the national title. That’s the situation I find myself in, but an average performance with my Sweet 16 teams will prevent me from winning a pool with a lot of college friends. I am still top 5 in the nearly 50-person pool though, so I will take it.
