Breaking News:Razorback just recieved sad and terrifying report now
One of the top transfer point guards in the country, Tony Perkins, narrowed his list of potential schools down to six on Wednesday morning and Arkansas basketball made the cut. The former Iowa Hawkeye also included Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Oregon in his final six schools. 4
The 6-4, 185-pound guard averaged 9.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals on 44/32/77 shooting splits over the past four seasons at Iowa. Last season was easily the best of his career, as Perkins averaged 14.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals on 40/32/79 splits during the 2023-2024 season.
Perkins is currently rated as the No. 7 point guard in the portal and No. 39 overall transfer prospect, according to 247Sports transfer portal prospect rankings. Perkins most recently took a visit to Missouri this past weekend and has just one season of eligibility remaining.

The timing of Perkins’ announcement is interesting as rumors and speculation regarding Eric Musselman‘s future at Arkansas have reached a fever pitch. On Tuesday, HawgSports confirmed through various sources that Musselman was set to “interview” for the vacant USC head coaching job on Wednesday.
More reports surfaced on Wednesday morning and place Musselman as USC’s primary target for the coaching vacancy. As of this writing, there has been no formal announcement and Musselman is still the head coach at Arkansas as the program gets ready for the 2024-25 season.
Arkansas currently has just one commitment out of the transfer portal. Former Massachusetts forward Josh Cohen committed to the Razorbacks last Thursday after visiting Fayetteville earlier that week.
