Razorbacks suffer blow to secondary room with McAdoo not able to return from injury

Arkansas suffered a major blow to its depth in the secondary. Quincey McAdoo announced Thursday afternoon that has left the Razorbacks due to health issues.

This comes following an accident last offseason in a car wreck which caused a spinal injury. McAdoo was coming off a five-game stretch as a true freshman that saw him record 30 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, four pass break-ups and two interceptions.

McAdoo wasn’t always a defensive back for the Razorbacks. He began his collegiate career as a wide receiver, but injuries in the secondary forced him and Sam Mbake to switch positions. The Clarendon native excelled under such circumstances and was tabbed as a future star for Arkansas.

I’m at a loss for words on how blessed I am to become a part of something so special.

Unfortunately, because of health reasons am publicly announcing my medical retirement. I want to give a special thanks to my family and community for not letting me lose myself throughout this whole process. Your everlasting love is my drive to be who l am today. Without you and the man above, none of this would be possible.

To my teammates and brothers l’ve made along the way, you will always be a part of me! The memories and fun we shared will never be forgotten or taken for granted.

To my coaches I want to say thank you for believing in me and giving me an opportunity to experience my lifelong dream.

To those young players chasing a dream, know that they do come true and never let anyone tell you different! No matter where you come from.
