Breaking:Nick Timberlake regret his action after facts appeared

Nick Timberlake feels he’ll be leaving Kansas with a new nickname

Now, Timberlake isn’t the first nor last player to be coached by Bill Self who might feel that way. The phrase is a go-to for Self. The KU coach has called some of his previous teams soft and many players have recalled times when the KU coach has called them that, too. It’s a way for Self to challenge individuals and a collective to do better

He calls every player that,” Timberlake said. “But it’s a blessing to be able to be coached by him. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m extremely happy I came here and to be able to be coached by the best coach in the country is amazing.

Timberlake wouldn’t trade it for anything, and it’s something he almost certainly didn’t expect when he began his college career at Towson back in the 2018-19 season. He stayed with the Towson program for five seasons, scoring over 1,500 points during his career. Following his redshirt senior season in which he averaged 17.7 points per game on 49.5 percent shooting from 2 and 41.6 percent shooting from 3, he decided to transfer. Timberlake wanted to challenge himself at the highest level

His recruitment immediately took off. He had offers to play across the country and took visits to North Carolina, Kansas and UConn before he eventually picked KU.

Things haven’t quite gone to plan at KU this season, but Timberlake was able to celebrate his final collegiate home game inside of Allen Fieldhouse on Tuesday night. Joined by his parents for the pregame ceremony, Timberlake also had two of his uncles in the stands watching.

It was awesome, I mean at Towson we didn’t do any of that,” Timberlake said. “It was awesome having [my family] here.”

The 6-foot-4 guard put on a show for his family and KU fans inside of Allen Fieldhouse in KU’s eventual 90-68 win over Kansas State. Timberlake got the start on Senior Night and scored one basket in nine-first half minutes. The second half is when the KU guard came alive.

Timberlake made two 3s within minutes of his return to the floor in the second half, which pushed KU’s lead to 17 points. A few minutes later, he threw down a dunk in transition that again showcased his athleticism. As the home stretch of the game neared, Timberlake knocked down two more 3s to bring his total to the game to four.
