Michigan signed a number of players from the state of Ohio for this past recruiting cycle.
One of the biggest lands figuratively and literally was Lakewood (OH.) St. Edward 2024 offensive tackle Ben Roebuck
Michael Barrett is one of a record 18 Michigan Wolverines participating in the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
“A little hectic, man, but it’s a blessing,” Barrett said. “It’s a blessing to be here. A blessing to be a part of this. And it just feels great to know that all my hard work that I’ve worked for over the years since I was a kid, my dream is finally about to come true. And it’s a surreal moment being in this moment right now.”
In the above video, Barrett speaks about his journey at Michigan and what he hopes to show NFL franchises this week.
Barrett leaves U-M as the winningest player in program history. He won three Big Ten championships and a CFP National Championship, was a team captain and a two-time All-Big Ten selection.
Below, an excerpt from 247Sports writer Zach Shaw’s NFL Combine preview for Barrett:
Barrett will be seen as a plus in every intangible department. The linebacker has proven positional flexibility, documented leadership and a work ethic that will garner strong recommendations from everyone who coached him. His motor on the field and work ethic in the weight room matched anyone on Michigan’s team, and he showed he will take on any role offered at Michigan. He has logged 634 special teams snaps in his career as well as 1,875 defensive snaps, so he’s as experienced as they come.
