An investigation has been launched following an alleged racist incident at the King Power Stadium on Saturday 

Middlesbrough have launched an investigation into an incident during their 2-1 victory at Leicester City on Saturday.

The club issued a statement on Sunday, which read: “Middlesbrough Football Club are aware of an incident which took place during yesterday’s game at Leicester City.

We are investigating this and are working with the relevant authorities to identify the individual(s) involved.

We have a zero-tolerance approach towards racism and all forms of discriminatory behaviour and will take the strongest action possible.

Our club is an inclusive football club where everyone should feel safe and welcome.”

The BBC report an alleged racist incident took place in the away end, citing footage on social media
Stephy Mavididi, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Abdul Fatawu top City’s charts for combined goals and assists in the Championship this season but all were taken off early
