Breaking News:Zach Ertz is a serious concern to be looked into
Veteran tight end Zach Ertz, who joined the Detroit Lions this week, will reportedly not be active against the San Francisco 49ers.
According to ESPN, “The Lions are not activating Zach Ertz off the practice squad for Sunday’s NFC title game, per source. Ertz worked hard all week to get ready but team will hold him
Typically, Detroit’s coaching staff has not played players soon after they join the team. Similarly, players returning from injury also tend to practice for a couple of weeks before returning to action.
Even though James Houston was added to the 53-man active roster last week, the talented pass rusher was ruled inactive against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field.
He Lions are likely to use their two elevations this week on a fullback and an offensive lineman, as Jonah Jackson was ruled inactive after missing the week of practice.
Head coach Dan Campbell expressed the coaching staff prepared the team similarly to each game this season
Yeah, this is any other week,” said Campbell. “Just like I said early in the week, the problem is all this, and so as long as we just stay – and our players know that, and we made that point early. The football stuff is no different than like it was getting ready for Kansas City in Week 1. It’s identical. And so, I feel like we’ve handled it well, but that’s all of it. I feel like we’re handling that well, that portion of it.”
