Breaking:Jim Harbaugh makes outrageous statement so unprofessional
With Jim Harbaugh off to the NFL, there’s obviously a tier one, elite head coaching job available. Most people think it should go to Sherrone Moore and that sure does make a lot of sense. Here are five reasons why Moore should be Michigan’s next head coach.
Whenever a new coach is hired, especially from outside the program, it’s always going to take some time to transition. Sometimes that can be smooth and other times it can be rocky and drag out.
If Michigan hires Moore, there would be none of that. Obviously he’s already in-house and he has been for six years. He’s familiar with Ann Arbor, Schembechler Hall, the weight room and indoor facilities, Michigan Stadium, the gameday experience at U-M and all of the traditions that are extremely important to the program and fanbase. He’s already a Wolverine and that’s huge for the fans and the process of changing head coaches, especially when the former head coach is Jim Harbaugh
This one is probably the point that most people cling to when supporting the hiring of Moore. He was the interim head coach for four games in 2023 and went 4-0. That’s obviously a nice mark, but when you consider that one of the wins was against Penn State in Happy Valley and another was against Ohio State, its means much, much more.
Sherrone took on Michigan’s biggest opponents of the entire regular season and came out unscathed. Yes, Harbaugh was present during the week as the team prepared for the games, but Moore running the show on gameday the way he did is a massive endorsement for him and what he’s capable of.
This rings true across the entire roster. Every time players talk about Sherrone Moore, they gush about his ability to connect, teach and lead. Players were asked about him a lot since he coached four games in 2023 and the opinions were incredibly consistent. If Sherrone Moore is hired, most feel like he will be able to retain most of the current Wolverines.
In fact, the only box he doesn’t check, is that he technically hasn’t been a head coach before. Yes, he ran the show on gameday four times in 2023, but he’s never hired staff members, scheduled and conducted an entire offseason or spring ball, built or implemented a recruiting plan or really any of the other things that come along with being a head coach. Moore is intelligent, organized,
energetic, a phenomenal recruiter, a great teacher and leader and he’s really coming into his own as a 37-year old coordinator. He’s ready to be a head coach. A couple of years ago, most probably didn’t see his first gig being at U-M, but he’s ready
