Washington Commanders request interview with Ravens DC Mike MacDonald

The Washington Commanders fired Head Coach Ron Rivera this morning, and there have already been several reports about interest in candidates to replace him. Michigan Wolverines HC Jim Harbaugh’s agent was reportedly contacting by Bob Myers, who is leading the search for a new coach and head of football operations. Rams DC Raheem Morris, Lions OC Ben Johnson, and Lions DC Aaron Glenn have already gotten interview requests from Washington

Ian Rapoport is reporting another name that the Washington Commanders would like to interview. Baltimore Ravens DC Mike MacDonald is the 6th reported candidate for Washington’s open head coaching job. The Ravens are the only NFL team that MacDonald has worked for, and this is his second stint with the team. He started as a coaching intern in 2014, was a defensive assistant for the next two years, coached DBs(2017), and then LBs(2018-20). MacDonald then joined Jim Harbaugh’s coaching staff at Michigan as their defensive coordinator in 2021. He was back with the Ravens the next season as their defensive coordinator, the job that he still holds with the Ravens.
