Brighton’s Jeremy Sarmiento spent the first half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at West Brom, and started seven Championship games at the Baggies, appearing off the substitute’s bench a further 13 times as he scored on two occasions.

The 21-year-old Ecuador international now looks set to join Ipswich Town as Kieran McKenna looks to bolster his squad, as the Tractor Boys push for promotion to the Premier League.

Sarmiento joined the Seagulls from Portuguese outfit Benfica in 2021, and made 19 appearances for the south coast side before joining the Baggies on loan at the start of the campaign.

The ace’s parent club recalled him on Monday, and now look set to offload him again, as the Tractor Boys will look to benefit from the attacking midfielder’s services.
