New update:Self explanatory Dylan Sampson Makes sense of Mentality In front of Citrus Bowl
Tennessee Volunteers running back Dylan Sampson will step into the feature role after two opt-outs earlier in the week…..
Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson will assume the lead-back duties against Iowa in the Citrus Bowl. His fellow backfield mates, Jaylen Wright and Jabari Small, declared for the 2024 NFL Draft and opted out of the Citrus Bowl earlier this week, meaning we get another extended look at Sampson.
Sampson met with the media on Thursday afternoon to discuss what the opportunity means to him. He didn’t get the extensive opportunities that some thought he would this year, but it was a crowded backfield. Sampson didn’t let inconsistent touches affect his mindset, though, and he’s carrying the same mindset into Monday that he does before every game.
He explained the difference between waiting for your number to be called and knowing you will be featured in the game plan. Sampson only had six games where he reached 10+ touches this season, but it looks likely he will exceed that mark early in the football game against Iowa.
