News update:picture subtitle Cam Newton is attempting better approaches to get once more into the NFL

There was a point in time when the Carolina Panthers needed Cam Newton on the football field to make a difference.

The former franchise quarterback is making a different pitch to return to Charlotte sooner rather than later.

On a recent episode of “4th and 1 with Cam Newton,” the game-changing quarterback argued he should be the president of football operations for the Panthers moving forward, citing his ability to hold players accountable in a fashion others in the front office couldn’t.

Consider this my official job interview,” Newton said. “Now granted, I know you’re a businessman and I know you’re about your coin, cool. But, if you allow me, with your blessings and graces, to bring my talents to the executive kind of position, I can not only hold you accountable, but I can hold everybody else accountable too.

Newton is taking over the Panthers as a labor of love.

He wants his entire front office check to be completely incentives-based, meaning the only way Newton gets paid is if the Panthers win football games — something they haven’t done much of in the David Tepper era

I don’t want you to give me no money,” Newton said. “Have my contract be all incentive-based. And in that regard, I guarantee you, you will get an ROI.”

Newton has been actively trying to get back into the NFL as a quarterback on a team. He has often commented that there aren’t 32 quarterbacks better than him. But still, no teams have come calling.

Now, his focus is shifting to the front office, where he clearly feels that as one of the head decision-makers in the Panthers franchise, he can make a difference.

Hey, the Panthers brought him back once. Maybe Tepper will be so desperate that they will do it again
