Breaking News:Brighton just recieved sad news
Brighton and Hove Albion striker Deniz Undav will cost VfB Stuttgart ‘over €20m’ in the summer if they wish to sign him on a permanent basis.
That’s according to Sport 1, who follow up reports from earlier this week regarding the purchase clause included in the striker’s current loan deal.
The striker joined Stuttgart on loan in the summer after something of a miserable first year at Brighton where he struggled to make much of an impact.
That’s not been the case for him back in Germany, with currently sitting on 10 goals and three assists in 15 games and just 939 minutes of action so far
All indications are that the club will look to sign him on a permanent basis in the coming months, particularly if Stuttgart sell star striker Serhou Guirassy.
A report yesterday indicated they would have to pay €18m to do so but Sport 1 say the clause is actually ‘over €20m’, after they already paid €800,000 to secure the loan in the first place. That figure will increase by €1m if they reach the Champions League.
Crucially, though, they have ‘a few weeks’ after the 2023/24 season comes to an end to decide whether they want to sign him on a permanent basis from Brighton.
Thus, there is no rush to make a decision on the striker and no decision has been made, despite his ‘fairytale’ time with the German so far.
