Exclusive:deserves it Defender signs new multi-year contract to stay with Brighton for the long term
By signing a new multi-year contract, a defender for Brighton & Hove Albion has committed to the team for his long-term future.
The new contract that Jan Paul van Hecke has signed will be in effect until June 2027.
The middle back has shown up to this point this season, as well as being named in the beginning XI of every one of Albion’s last six Chief Association matches
Men’s first-group lead trainer Roberto De Zerbi said: ” I am extremely pleased with JP’s new contract. He has earned it. He’s getting better and better as a player.

Before signing with Brighton in September 2020, the 23-year-old began his career in the Netherlands with NAC Breda, where Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen also rose through the ranks
He then spent the 2020/21 season with Heerenveen, before having a breakthrough year on loan with Blackburn Rovers.
Jon Dahl Tomasson’s group would complete barely shy of the Title end of the season games that season, however van Hecke’s structure was perceived by Wanderers as he won their Player of the Time grant, the principal player borrowed to win the award.
Before becoming a regular member of De Zerbi’s team this season, he made 15 appearances for the Seagulls.
