Julio Enciso of Brighton has been named one of three finalists for the FIFA Puskas Award in 2023

The stunning long-range strike that the Albion forward made in May against Manchester City earned him the title of Premier League player of the year for the 2022/23 season

The 19-year-old, who also took home the goal of the season award from the Seagulls, faces stiff competition for the honor.

Botafogo FC-SP’s Guilherme Madruga scored a stunning overhead kick from 25 yards out against Gremio Novorizontino in June, and Sporting Lisbon’s Nuno Santos was nominated for his superb Rabona against Boavista in March.

Last year’s winner was Marcin Olesky and to see all of this year’s finalists, you canĀ watch all three goals here

The individual or team deemed to have scored the year’s most aesthetically significant or beautiful goal receives the FIFA Puskas Award.

The honor is named after Ferenc Puskas, a striker for Real Madrid and a former Hungarian international in the 1950s and 1960s.
