Exclusive:deal done Aston Villa agrees to let star move on

Sevilla are now willing to sell Aston Villa target Marcos Acuña for less than what the Villans offered to pay for him in the summer.

That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who say the Spanish side intend to get rid of the full-back and accept a lower proposal.

The website explains that Sevilla want to get rid of several players in the January transfer market with the aim of adjusting their salary expenditure to match their lack of income from European competitions.

Acuña is one of the big earners in the squad and after being accused of laziness for not moving in the summer, when Aston Villa made efforts to get him, Sevilla ‘would be willing’ to sell him now for €9m.

That is €1m less than what Monchi and his team offered for the Argentine in the summer but is a figure that would be ‘well received’ by those in charge of the Nervión club this time around.

They believe that at 32-years-old with a year and a half left on his contract, now is the perfect time to get rid of the full-back, particularly given Adrià Pedrosa has replaced him in the first team.

The club are also unhappy with a series of injuries he’s suffered and his ‘outbursts’, all of which seem to disappear when it’s time to play for the national team.

Thus, a sale would be welcomed now, it just remains to be seen if Aston Villa are willing to make a move again and get him for less than they were previously happy to pay.
