Anthony Baxter J’Zavien Currence headliners for Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe

Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe has the top-ranked prospect in the state for 2026 in cornerback J’Zavien Currence. More on him below. But South Pointe also features rising junior interior offensive lineman Anthony Baxter, who added South Carolina and Virginia Tech offers in January. Duke, Kentucky, and Cincinnati followed.

Baxter (6-3, 330) plays center, guard, and tackle for South Pointe but projects as a guard in college.

His athletic ability for his size is his biggest strength,” South Pointe head coach Bobby Collins told 247Sports. “If you see him do ladders or bags, you’d see he’s got great feet for his size and age.

Baxter visited Clemson this past weekend. It marked just his second recruiting visit. He visited UNC Charlotte a year ago.

Next up, he’ll see South Carolina for the first time on March 23

Baxter, who said he grew up an Alabama fan, spoke on the Gamecocks and the Tigers.

“Clemson was a great experience,” Baxter said. “I liked how close the coaches are with the players, and just the atmosphere of the place. Coach (Matt) Luke is a really great guy

I want to learn more about the academics at South Carolina and the relationships they have with the players.”

Baxter coined his pulling ability and leadership along with his athleticism as the highlights of his game.

Baxter plans to camp at North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Liberty, and JMU before traveling to Cincinnati and Kentucky this summer.

He’s very humble and hungry and puts in work in the weight room and classroom, and he does all the right things in the offseason,” Collins said. “He plays varsity basketball here and is putting in the work to be successful.

“He loves football right now and he’ll go to a school that wants him and what offensive line coach he can see himself playing for the next few years
