LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Even though the season might be over, the Michigan Wolverines continue to set records. The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is coming up on Feb. 26, and a record 18 Michigan players have been invited.

Previously, LSU held the record, which was set in 2020 when they had 16 players invited. That came after the Tigers won the National Championship in the same season as well.

The following is a list of the 18 Michigan players that received NFL Combine invites:

Following my breaking news report on Sherrone Moore’s aggressive offer to Tennessee linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary I received word that the Volunteers had come back with a counter-offer. But multiple sources with knowledge of the courtship tell me Moore made a huge financial commitment in anticipation of that, and they expect Jean-Mary to accept the offer to rejoin Michigan’s staff tomorrow

In other news, sources say Houston Texans safeties coach Stephen Adegoke wasn’t the only defensive backs coaching target to interview with Sherrone Moore and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale today. Louisiana defensive coordinator Lamar Morgan also interviewed. Sources say both interviewed so well that this has become a two-horse race. The word from inside is that both are “super sharp” and “really know ball.” And would be big time hires. Morgan brings more experience and Jessee Minter’s endorsement, while Adegoke brings two-years in the NFL and familiarity with current players and staff. It’s a tough call
